History: Founded as the IPC European Committee in November 1991, EPC adopted its current name in 1999.
Members: The EPC is composed of forty-seven National Paralympic Committees, the European branches of four disability-specific International Organisations of Sports for the Disabled and one Independent Paralympic Sports Federation, making a total membership of fifty-two.
General Assembly: The General Assembly, held every two years, is the supreme governing body of EPC. All members are entitled to send delegates to the assembly.
Executive Board: The EPC Executive Board (formerly known as the Executive Committee) is elected every four years by the members at the General Assembly. The committee is made up of the President, the Secretary General, the Treasurer, the Technical Officer, the Athletes' Representative and four Members-at-large.
Conferences: EPC organises an annual conference to discuss issues related to disability sports. Recent conferences have focused on topics such as EPC's relations with the European Union and disability sports development in Europe. In 2002, with European Union funding, EPC organised a congress on the "Harmonisation of Doping Policies and Procedures in European Sports for Athletes with Disabilities" as a follow-on from its highly successful "Doping Disables" campaign. The 2007 conference focused on "Developing Young Paralympic Athletes in Europe".
Sports: EPC is responsible for European championships and cup events in the following sports for athletes with a disability: alpine skiing, archery, athletics, lawn bowling, powerlifting, nordic skiing, shooting, sledge hockey, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair dance sport.
