06-05-2009Czech Republic gears up for Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A
Ostrava in the Czech Republic is the host city for the 2009 Ice Sledge Hockey World Championships A, the last major event in the 2008-2009 season as teams prepare for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Paralympic Games. Eight of the world’s best teams, including four European countries, will compete for the title of World Champions.

The action kicks off at the Ice Arena Sareza, a modern multi-purpose sports facility with a capacity of 5 000 spectators (1 931 seated and 3 069 standing), at 09:00 on Saturday May 9th with the first match between the USA and Italy.

 

The eight teams have been split in two groups of four and a round-robin league system will determine who will go through to the play-offs.

Japan
Germany
Czech Republic

 

Group B

 

Norway
USA
Italy
Korea
