David Weir (UK) and Sandra Graf (Switzerland) take London Marathon honours
Local star David Weir won his third successive London Marathon yesterday with a well-timed sprint finish. The British wheelchair athlete completed the race in 1 hour, 33 minutes and 56 seconds.
Switzerland’s Sandra Graf took the women’s race, setting a new course record in the process with a time of 1 hour, 48 minutes and 5 seconds. Amanda McGrory from the USA took second place from defending champion Shelly Woods (UK).
Kurt Fearnley from Australia came second in the men’s division and France's Denis Lemeunier finished third.
