Also playing from Europe in the A Tournament – reserved for the world’s top teams – were Germany and Italy, who came fifth and sixth resepctively behind fourth-place Japan. In the B Tournament the Czech Republic came second only to Korea, earning promotion to the top table for next year’s world championships and the chance to qualify for the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
