18-03-2008Paralympic family to nominate best ever athletes and coaches for Hall of Fame
The launch of the Hall of Fame and its first induction ceremony took place during the Torino 2006 Paralympic Winter Games. At that time two Winter Paralympic athletes (one male, one female) and one coach were the first-ever inductees to our Hall of Fame.

With the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games fast approaching, all member organizations of the Paralympic family are invited to nominate their best-ever male and female athletes and coach in summer sports.

The Paralympic Hall of Fame, presented by Visa, is a high-profile way of celebrating the great historical sporting achievements in the Paralympic Movement. Although for now it is primarily a “virtual” Hall of Fame (ie. it is a website linked to the International Paralympic Committee web site), it ensures that the legacy of the Paralympic Games is recorded for posterity.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday 16th May 2008.

For more information on the Hall of Fame contact Carolin Jansen, IPC Marketing & Communications Assistant (carolin.jansen@paralympic.org or fax: +49-228-2097-209).
