09-01-2008First event in Alpine Skiing World Cup underway in Austria
The IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup has begun in Salzburg, Austria. Following three events this season so far in the IPC Alpine Skiing European Cup, Europe's top skiers with a disability come up against the best from the rest of the world in Abtenua for five days' racing.

Single-leg amputee skier in action  

There are four events in total in this year's world cup. The action will move on to Queyras in the French alps for the second event between January 13th and 20th, before switching to Asia for races in Korea and the finals in Hakuba in Japan from February 21st to 26th.

 

The next event in the IPC Alpine Skiing European Cup will be held at the end of January in Solleftea, Sweden, before the season concludes at the finals in La Molina, Spain, from March 27th - 30th.
