2010 IPC Swimming World Championships to be held in Europe
The International Paralympic Committee has selected the Dutch city of Eindhoven to host its 2010 Swimming World Championships ahead of a strong bid from Minneapolis in the USA.
The event follows on from the 2006 worlds held in Durban, South Africa, where around 550 athletes from 50 countries participated.
The decision to grant the championships to the Netherlands was taken by the IPC Governing Board at its recent meeting in Seoul, South Korea. The Board also awarded the 2010 IPC Athletics World Championships to Christchurch, New Zealand.
