15-10-2007Nine countries take medals in open clases at 2007 Table Tennis European Championships in Slovenia
Swedish player Ingela Lundbäck, category 5, sixth in the world ranking, beat German player Andrea Zimmerer after a very tough match. There are new European champions in open classes from four different countries.

The French totally dominated the men’s standing category, winning all three medals. Jean Philippe Robin won gold, beating Maxime Thomas in the final match by 3-0 Florian Merrien finished third.


Jose Manuel Ruiz Reyes from Spain became the new European champion in men’s standing category, beating Ivan Karabec (Czech Republic) 3-1, with Finn Esa Miettinen taking the bronze medal. Nine countries won medals in the open classes – France four and other countries one medal (Slovenia, Sweden, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Spain, Czech Republic and Finland).
