More info EPC and EU to host joint reception in Beijing at Paralympic Games 23-07-2008 The European Paralympic Committee and the European Commission will host a joint reception at the 13th Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. The reception will take place at the headquarters of the European Commission Delegation in the Chinese capital on Monday 8th September at 6pm. More info Blind futsal hits Berlin for coaching and refereeing seminars 04-07-2008 Thirty-five people representing four countries – Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Scotland - will gather this weekend in Berlin, Germany, for blind futsal seminars held as part of the UEFA-funded IBSA Futsal Development Project Europe. More info HIGHLIGHTS EPC appoints Chief Executive Officer 28-07-2008 EPC is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Yuri Sasson as Chief Executive Officer. Mr Sasson, who took up his position on July 1st, will provide professional and full-time support to the committee and manage the new HQ and office in Vienna. More info EPC announces major support from European Union 21-07-2008 EPC has announced it is to receive major backing from the European Commission for 2008 and 2009. The committee has been awarded an EU grant to cover ordinary running and operating expenses as part of the "Europe for Citizens" programme, aimed at promoting active European citizenship for the period between 2007 and 2013. More info New EPC HQ in Vienna set to open 15-07-2008 EPC has now been presented with the keys to its new office and headquarters in central Vienna. On July 1st the Austrian government handed over use of the 95 square metre premises, located in the centre of Vienna opposite the State Opera House, to the committee. More info IFDS Disabled Sailing World Championships open in Portugal 08-07-2008 The International Federation of Disabled Sailing (IFDS) world championships in the challenger class are set to begin in earnest today at the Cascais Sailing Club in Portugal. More info EPC launches call for bids to host 2009 general assembly 02-07-2008 The EPC Secretary General has launched the process to select a host for the committee’s 2009 general assembly. Members are invited to study the call and the checklist for organisers and present bids by Tuesday 30th September 2008. More info
